Doors are an integral part of every set that you'll design. Finding just the right reference for doors can be a time-consuming and frustrating job as well as identifying and locating the correct hardware to go with them. I've gathered reference material from hundreds of sources and curated it into this class. You also get copies of drawings from actual films and shows that you can use as reference for creating door details for your own work.

Until now, no one has created a class that explains doors and hardware to designers.
You'll follow along with a video that explains the chronology of door design and the transitions that hardware went through over the past four centuries. We'll go over hardware placement according to time period as well as how designers were influenced by room proportion in creating door sizes.

- Accurate 3D models (.skp /.obj) of doorways from the 1670s to the 1930s with correct period construction techniques and joinery for use as study models or in 3D set models for design. The models are full scale, meaning that they can be used to create working drawings.
